A number of people have asked me this so I think I’ll address it in this post. An ipod is a specific brand of MP3 player made by Apple. It’s one of the world’s most popular music and video players. An MP3 player is anything that can play MP3 files. Nowadays some of the latest MP3 players offer the same great features and storage memory capabilities.
Since the iPod is Apple's version of MP3 player, it is set to interface with iTunes to make downloading from the site easier. It also has some functionality, such as allowing you to tab tunes as favorites, etc. A normal MP3 player will simply hold your MP3 songs on a flash drive and play them in order (usually alphabetical). Variations such as ipod nano and iPod Touch are available. You can even get cheap ipods if you window shop around and do a price comparison.
