According to reports, 43-year-old Manuel Uribe, the world's heaviest man, has announced that he plans to marry his long-term girlfriend named Claudia Solis on Oct 26 in Monterrey, Mexico.

The couple met each other in 2004. They have still yet to decide the location for exchanging their wedding vows.

Uribe had been declared the world's heaviest man this year by Guinness Book of World Records. He is unable to even get out of his bed. Any outing requires hoisting his bed onto the back of a truck.

However, since 2006 when his weight was at its peak of 560 kg, he has shed about 250kg with the help of nutritionists working with the Zone diet. Understandably, he said he would not have more than a bite of wedding cake for photos, since he's still dieting to reach a weight which will allow him to walk again. His goal is to leave the house on his own but doctors say that is a long process because it may take several years for Uribe to reach his goal. He particularly is looking forward to walking his fiancee down the aisle when they marry. A Mexican band called Pesado, or Heavy, will be providing the music during his wedding.

With Amazon Video On Demand, you can now instantly watch movies and television shows commercial-free on Macs or PCs. With this new service, you have the ability to enjoy instant playback of hit Hollywood movies and the latest TV shows and episodes such as The Office, House, Law & Order, etc.

To make it easy to decide to rent or purchase a movie or TV show, the first two minutes of videos automatically play at no charge when you visit the product detail page. At any time during this 2-minute viewing period, you can choose to purchase or rent the title to watch it in its entirety. TiVo(R) users can still download movies and TV shows to their TiVo DVR and watch on their TVs as before.

Video on Demand price-wise seems better when compared to the competition. For example, most of the movies are available both to rent and purchase in prices ranging from $2.99-3.99 for rentals, and $9.99-14.99 for purchases. TV shows cost $1.99 a pop. However, the prices for entire seasons (this includes "TV passes" for curjavascript:void(0)rent seasons that will shell out new episodes over time) on the whole beat the iTunes Store quite well. Moreover, you don't need to pay the entire price up front for a TV pass. You can get a 5 percent discount for each episode you buy (making them $1.89 apiece). You can also cancel TV passes whenever you wish, but you still get to keep the episodes you already purchased.

Harry Potter fans have some excitement coming their way. The elusive Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling is now available for pre-order on Amazon. This book of fairy tales was written to supplement the Harry Potter series and will be published in two new editions on December 4, 2008. Originally the book was made into only 7 copies. Amazon ultimately purchased one that was auctioned for 3.98 million dollars. However we, who don't have around 4 million in pocket change, now have an opportunity to purchase a copy.

The Standard Edition features all five fairy tales (each with an Aesop-like lesson) from the original The Tales of Beedle the Bard, a new introduction by J.K. Rowling, illustrations reproduced from the original handcrafted book, and commentary on each of the tales by Professor Albus Dumbledore.

The exclusive Collector's Edition includes a reproduction of J.K. Rowling's handwritten introduction, as well as 10 additional illustrations not found in the Standard Edition. When you open the cover of the case, a velvet bag embroidered with J.K. Rowling's signature is revealed, in which sits the piece de resistance: your very own copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, complete with metal skull, corners, and clasp; replica gemstones; and emerald ribbon. As a special gift for fans, the Collector's edition also includes a set of 10 ready-for-framing prints of J.K. Rowling's illustrations, enclosed in a velvet-lined pocket in the lid of the outer case.

Don't be left behind -- pre-order it online now and get the best deal by clicking here for the Standard Edition or here for the Collector’s Edition. Since it doesn't come out until December, you can even put it on your Christmas list since it will be a great and sought-after Christmas gift.

                  Shopping made fun

Does shopping online ever seem monotonous and dreary to you? If so, you should check out ShopWiki’s blog called Overlooked, which can transform the shopping experience for you. This blog basically pokes fun at anything and has hilarious stories and entries to read, which in turn link to great products on the web, some of them as crazy as can be. For example, there’s a popcorn maker in the shape of a duck which looks like it's vomiting the popcorn. A variety of such new and interesting products and online stores from across the internet are scoured for, and the best of these overlooked items are linked to within the stories on the blog. So you can always find some weird, wacky, and wonderful things, as well as novel gift ideas, worth checking out. The links on the blog lead to a list of stores (with prices) stocking the products.

There’s also a weekly post called “Hunk Friday” where, every Friday, a wannabe hunk is profiled and the entry is interspersed with all sorts of things for sale on the web. Actually, the beauty is in never knowing what kinds of crazy products to expect. Hence, browsing through the blog makes it pretty fun, as well as an adventure, to shop online.
